Central Animals of Senegal (CAS) is a professional animal registry and canine organization dedicated to establishing high-quality standards for pedigree registration, animal identification, responsible breeding, animal welfare, microchipping, breeder certification, canine events, and the preservation of reliable animal records.

CAS was created with a clear vision: to build a world-class African animal registry that gives breeders and dog owners in Senegal and across West Africa access to professional registration standards comparable to those used by respected international kennel organizations.

Our goal is not simply to issue paperwork. Our goal is to build a trusted system of identity, lineage, accountability, and responsible breeding that protects the value of every registered animal.

Our pedigree system

A pedigree is more than a certificate. It represents an animal’s identity, ancestry, breeding history, and place within a documented bloodline.

CAS is developing a structured pedigree system designed to document generations of ancestry while maintaining accurate registration and ownership information. Where documentation requirements are met, CAS records may include:

The objective is to make every CAS pedigree traceable, professional, verifiable, and useful for responsible breeding. Established registries such as UKC maintain pedigree systems that document ancestry; CAS is building its own standards with the same philosophy of protecting pedigree integrity.

Microchip + Pedigree = Permanent identity

CAS believes that a pedigree and a permanent animal identification system should work together. The pedigree identifies the animal through its documented lineage; the microchip provides a permanent identification number associated with the individual animal.

CAS therefore promotes microchip identification as a pillar of modern animal registration and responsible ownership.

Responsible breeding

The CAS Certified Breeder Program establishes a professional standard for breeders. Certification evaluates seven axes:

Protecting pedigree integrity

CAS takes pedigree integrity seriously. A pedigree should never be treated as simply a piece of paper.

CAS is committed to reducing fraudulent or inaccurate information by establishing procedures for documentation, identification, registration, ownership transfers, and verification. Where required by CAS policy, additional documentation (photographs, veterinary records, microchip information, DNA data, or supporting pedigree records) may be requested before approval.

Animal welfare

Registration means responsibility. CAS promotes ownership and breeding practices that prioritize the health, safety, and welfare of animals:

Our international standard

CAS recognizes the role of established kennel registries in developing professional dog registration worldwide. Organizations such as the United Kennel Club (UKC) operate international registration systems covering single registration, litter registration, transfers, pedigrees, DNA services, and breed records. The American Bully Kennel Club (ABKC) also operates pedigree systems maintaining quality and health standards.

CAS’s objective is to learn from the best practices of established registries while developing a standard specifically adapted to the needs of Senegal and West Africa.
